SWAN - Smedley Whitworth Arkwright Nightingale
Our House namesakes all have links to our local area and all contributed, during their lifetimes, very significantly to improving the lives, not only of their fellow Britons, but in the wider world.
We admire and aspire to uphold these British Values in all we do.
On arrival in Year 3, pupils are placed into one of the four Houses. New arrivals with older siblings who are currently in school, or who are former pupils, are usually placed in the same House so it's exciting for the whole family!
We take part in a wide range of inter-house competitions and challenges to help us win Points for our Houses. Each House has two captains and two vice-captains who are chosen by democratic vote in our annual House Captain elections held at the beginning of September.
We are very proud of our Houses and work hard to be worthy members.
This year, each House is supporting a charity through fundraising activities and competitions. Even though we have different charities, we are all enthusiatically supporting the other Houses' charity events as well as our own because, while we love a bit of House rivalry, at the end of the day...
